Was George Bush's greatest accomplishment as President, doubling the price of crude oil in just 12 months ???

No other comodity in history has enjoyed such metoric gains

Bush's never ending War has created the formula for success. Was George Bush's greatest accomplishment as President, doubling the price of crude oil in just 12 months ???
Creating a war from nothing is a pretty big accomplishment. Was George Bush's greatest accomplishment as President, doubling the price of crude oil in just 12 months ???
I think another poster said it best. he has given this country nothing but shame. there are no accomplishments. NONE. please do not even quote 9-11. he did not unite us.

all he has done is line the pockets of other wealthy republicans while us middle class folks have been struggling to make ends meet because gas prices are so high and the value of the dollar is fading fast.

(sarcasm)...what a president to be proud of.
How exactly does a sitting president set the price of crude oil? That must mean when Senator Obama or Senator Clinton are in office, we can breathe a sigh of relief as they will instantaneously cut the price of oil in half with the wave of a magic wand. Brilliant.
Actually, one day it will be that he instituted so many changes to how our government does business that he will be remembered.

Like the future law that all lobbyists be executed on sight.
His greatest accomplishment will have been getting away with something like 100,000 murders in his eight years and the fact that personal freedoms, so dear to Repuglyicans, have been eroded to the point where now you can hardly tell the difference between The USA now and the USSR under Stalin.
Interesting that you believe that any president has the power to double the price of oil. And the increasing demand from China and India has nothing to do with it? The fact that we havn't built a new refinery in over 30 years has nothing to do with the price of gas or that we refuse to drill in Alaska, off shore or in the continental US? How about not building Atomic power plants or developing geothermal? Its just the fault of President Bush, how well duped you are.
No I would say it was keeping from loosing his temper and dog cussing the ignorant.............
No China and India increasing Demand has increased the price of Oil. Venezuela's threats have increased the price of oil...refinery fires have increased the price of Oil. Mr. Bush had NOTHING to do with the Supply and Demand of the rest of the World. If this War was for Oil, then we would not be paying so much for it. sooo blinded by your hatred of the President.
First, can you please tell me how one person can affect the GLOBAL oil supply? Maybe while you are researching the answer, you can read about the booming economies of China, India, and many other emerging 3rd world countries. A basic education in economics should teach you about supply and demand. OPEC recently rejected calls for greater oil outputs....I guess you probably think that Bush has some kind of secret agreements with Arab leaders (who love us soooo much) to keep oil prices high. Finally, I deduct from your question that you are a democrat. Maybe you can write your democratic congressman and demand that the Alaskan oil fields be open up for oil drilling. The democrats have blocked this opening on debunked environmental concerns. And while you are writing your congressman, demand that all the bureaucratic red tape (implemented and maintained by dems. based on environmental concerns) be removed so we can construct new refineries. The current refineries are at maximum capacity. Even if we have 20 million more barrels of oil on the marketplace each day, the prices will remain at their current levels. Again, supply and demand. We have not built a new refinery in over 30 years in the US. Every time one is proposed, democrats block the construction. So maybe the answer to your question is a little more involved than just blaming someone for all the problems...it cant be that easy.
President bush has NO CONTROL over OPECS oil prices. Also he has asked numerous time for them to increase production which would reduce prices.
Did you know the democrats are making a bigger profit on taxes on crude oil than the oil companies..maybe it would be cheaper for us if they took the taxes off???
I’m sorry, but I’ve never known a man’s “success” to be equivocated to his blunders before Bush - Now I should suspect that if I miss the toilet, I too; will become a genius.
You are totally misinformed.

read a newspaper.
A sitting President raises the price of oil by destabilizing the middle east. Wait tell Cheney gets back from his ';peace'; mission. We will all be on bicycles.
He's an abject failure of a President.

Shame that the best thing he did was back-timing daylight savings time.

Other than that, he is a loser for Americans and a winner for his wealthy friends,
