Lets keep conserving, some places prices of gas is below $2.00Foreign oil prices are taking a noise dive, Isn't it great for the american consumer?
Reducing demand for gasoline by walking, biking, taking mass transit, and driving fewer miles at slower speeds is the only way to beat OPEC until we can get more flex fuel and alternative fuel cars into mass production.
A comprehensive national energy policy is required, and Obama and his Energy Secretary will have an opportunity to formulate sensible energy policies that will enhance America's national security, promote economic growth through energy efficiency, develop an entirely new American industrial sector, and reduce carbon emissions that foul the environment.
It's a four-fer, and perhaps a five-fer if the Treasury Secretary concludes that we could shift all or some of our payroll tax burden over to gasoline/diesel taxes. This would act as a personal incentive to keep conserving gasoline and diesel fuel, to improve fuel economy, and it would also promote the market for alternative/renewable fuels.Foreign oil prices are taking a noise dive, Isn't it great for the american consumer?
The reason oil prices are taking a ';noise dive'; is because things are terrible (the opposite of great) for the american and world consumer.
Simple supply and demand.
The powers that be are predicting greatly reduced demand for oil, not because of conservation, but because people are too poor to buy it. That is the reason the price is dropping.
We should still conserve though, OPEC wants to set the price of oil at $80/barrel. So they will.
I think the issue people really need to notice is how gas prices are nose diving now that Bush's last term is coming to an end. With only 3 months left of his term gas prices suddenly fall. It's hard to argue he wasn't making money the last 8 years. Especially considering the Bush family is very friendly with many Middle East oil families.
its a false hope, get off it ,oil, its sucker time again for down the road.
