The truck drivers main goals are not to reduce gas prices although everyone would like to see that happen. The reason they are striking is because they want some sort of fuel surcharge to be included in their shipping price. It's just like all of us not getting raises at our jobs to compensate for the cost of living increases. You have to spend more for daily living expenses and its taking away from your profit. Its not all truck drivers either. Its just the independent drivers who do not work for large companies who aren't being compensated for the rise in fuel prices.

Someone mentioned that if we don't buy gas from any other countries that would bring the prices down. WRONG! Even if it was possible to fuel our entire country from just U.S.A oil, that would only reduce the demand for oil around the world market and make the gas prices cheaper. Cheap oil prices would only accelerate the growth of the other countries that are a threat to the United States.

I hope what we see out of this trucker strike is an omen of what鈥檚 to come if gas does get so expensive that all truckers start staying home. Grocery stores would be out of food is my main concern. I just hope that this trucker strike does give a small effect of this so that our government and engineers around the world come up with a new alternative fuel to rid our dependence on oil in general not just foreign oil.

We need to come to the conclusion that everyday Americans need gas and can do nothing to bring the price down. This country needs to focus on alternative fuels and not what baseball player takes steroids or not.

Sometimes our country has it priorities mixed up and it is embarrassing.Do you think the april 1st Trucker Strike will affect oil prices?
The whole Nation should go on Strike
No it won't do a thing. This is just a democrat ploy to reinstate their old 55 mph speed limit. Seen it all before.
What happens after that? They go back to work and buying fuel because they need to not because they want to. If they really want to hurt them, they'll start to research effective hybrid/alternative fuel trucks.
if it's only one day, no it wont do anything. but i'd say i support them.
it wont affect oil but imagine what it will affect if it goes on for to longs schools will be getting out stores are going to be bare it will be a disaster but i think its good theyre doing this because something has to be done with these prices
It won't do a damn thing.

It is Unfortunate.
It will just cause other headaches.
What we all need to do is BUY AMERICAN GAS. No support to companies that buy oil from OPEC.

Flying J is all American.
It usually doesn't take much for the oil industry to raise heir prices.
What the truckers are doing will not effect oil and gas one penny.

I understand their pain. But the Arabs could care less.
Nope. Fuel prices are out of the hands of the people it will be hurting. I mean, I'm sorry diesel has officially reached $4.00 a gallon, but I just don't know what the truckers think they'll be solving by going on strike. All it's going to do is delay some old lady's medicine. It's not going to make fuel prices go down. At all, end of story.
