How high will oil and gas prices have to be before obstructionist democrats will allow drilling in ANWAR?

They're high enough now.

But liberals want to destroy America. How high will oil and gas prices have to be before obstructionist democrats will allow drilling in ANWAR?
Look, speaking as someone who works for a major oil company, I can tell you that even if drilling is allowed in ANWR (not ANWAR) it will not make much difference in the price of gas, and certainly not in the short term. It has been estimated that it would take about ten years before any significant amounts of oil could be produced from ANWR. You don't just go in, stick a pipe in the ground, and start sucking up oil. Further, even if oil were to be produced from ANWR, it would account for less than 10% of US demand.

No, the fact that drilling is not happening in ANWR is not the reason that gas prices are high. The demand for oil, particlarly from the rising economies of China and India, the two most populous countries on Earth, is in large measure the cause. It also appears that the current sudden rise in oil prices, and thus gas prices, is due to a speculation bubble, one which will burst, as all such bubbles do, probably sometime in the near future. That doesn't mean oil will drop back down to $30 a barrel, or even $50 a barrel, but it probably will go down considerably. How high will oil and gas prices have to be before obstructionist democrats will allow drilling in ANWAR?
If we did drill prices for crude oil would barely be noticeable... check my source... conservation is the key to lowering gas prices but then you got rich fools who like to drive hummers to piss environmentalist off but the only thing they are really doing is increasing the demand and price for gas...errr
Well, the price might have to get to 200 dollars a barrel. But it still wouldn't help very much. What are we now? (139 a barrel?) Wait until the 200 mark and see what happens.
At least the same as the UK. $20 a gallon.
