Q:How will having big oil in Iraq affect prices?

With Exxon, Shell, and BP getting access to oil fields, how will gas prices be affected?

A: It all depends on how successful the OILCO's, who once exploited the members of OPEC before , are successful in exploiting the Iraqi people and their oilfields and the gasoline/diesel consumers in the oil poor or oil dependent countries LIKE THE US. The less the Iraqi's get the better for the OILCO'S but price is unlikely to drop below 2.00$/gallon for gasoline or 2.80$/gal for diesel. We are on the hook bec of the greed and negligence of oil people who knew better since 1979!

BTW, biodiesel and ethanol added to mogas are just ways of keeping you dependent on them and hydrocarbon or carbon based fuels. It is time to restructure the way we think of energy and how we depend on certain sources! How will having big oil in Iraq affect prices?
Me too. I don't blame the people who actually do the work to find crudes extract them, then transport %26amp; refine them into producst and then transport %26amp; distribute petroleum products to the users.Their jobs %26amp; the work they do are essential to the security and the economies of the whole world! Report Abuse

I blame the greedy oil elites who walk away undeservedly with obscene shares of the profits %26amp; do nothing really to make things better. Report Abuse

As long as the Commodities Futures Modernization Act goes unchanged nothing anyone does will matter. You can drill your little hearts out and completely destroy the environment, but nothing will change as long as speculators are allowed to run amok.

Simply adding the words ';and energy'; to the Commodities Futures Modernization Act would bring gas prices down overnight.
They are going to help increase production since they're still using hand cranks to get the oil out of the ground and camels to transport it.

Let's see some optimism here folks, the whining and conspiracy theories are getting tiresome.
Even if US bullies Iraq into signing 'Iraq Oil Law', it still wouln't have any impact on the prices. The demand will only increase, only corporations will become even richer.

That was the purpose!
Prices will not drop if thats what you are wondering.
